Getting to know Bob Tulloch. FNZIPP

Bob Tulloch - Photo by Tracy Stamatakos

In the early 70’s, Bob dived into the deep end, after being given an opportunity to buy out a fellow Kiwi, who had a small photography business in Victoria, Vancouver Island. It was a hard but valuable learning curve that stood him in good stead as his career took off. Tauranga has been a wonderful place to expand his life skills (he married Lena), and to bring up a family. Photography has been a life of many creative and enjoyable experiences.

Over the years he has established professional studios, two photo labs, a gallery and a retail shop. He has taught photography throughout NZ to professionals and amateurs. He was awarded the prestigous honour of Fellow of the NZIPP, a result of winning many national awards in several categories. He is a Life Member of the NZIPP, having served in roles as a Judge, Honours Chair and National President.

It seems to be a natural progression for Bob to pass on his love of creating images, to helping others to do the same. He is a family man with grown up children and enjoys all sports and has a sociable personality. It is probably genetic that Bob’s curiosity and alert visual perception has taken his photography to become a lifetime passion. His father Arthur had the same knack of seeing what others didn’t.
